Characterization of Sector Clock Biases in Cellular CDMA Systems
نویسندگان
چکیده
The clock bias of cellular code division multiple access (CDMA) base transceiver station (BTS) sectors is characterized. The clock biases of individual sectors and the discrepancy between the clock biases of different sectors of the same BTS cell are studied. If not modeled and accounted for appropriately, this discrepancy could be harmful when cellular CDMA signals are exploited for navigation, introducing tens of meters of error in the position and tens of nanoseconds of error in the receiver’s clock bias estimate. A model for the discrepancy is proposed and validated through extensive experiments at different locations and times. Finally, an empirical upper bound on the discrepancy between the sector clock biases is provided.

Numerical Simulations of a Cellular CDMA- Based Navigation System
The basic concept adopted in the cellular code division multiple access (CDMA)-based navigation system proposed in [1] very much resembles the Differential Global Positioning System (DGPS). The proposed system setup employs CDMA base transceiver stations (BTS) with an auxiliary mapping receiver used for estimating the BTS clock biases. The estimated BTS clock biases and the pseudorange measurem...
متن کاملNonlinear Multiuser Receiver for Optimized Chaos-Based DS-CDMA Systems
Chaos based communications have drawn increasing attention over the past years. Chaotic signals are derived from non-linear dynamic systems. They are aperiodic, broadband and deterministic signals that appear random in the time domain. Because of these properties, chaotic signals have been proposed to generate spreading sequences for wide-band secure communication recently. Like conventional DS...
متن کاملBit Error Performance for Asynchronous Ds Cdma Systems Over Multipath Rayleigh Fading Channels (RESEARCH NOTE)
In recent years, there has been considerable interest in the use of CDMA in mobile communications. Bit error rate is one of the most important parameters in the evaluation of CDMA systems. In this paper, we develop a technique to find an accurate approximation to the probability of bit error for asynchronous direct–sequence code division multiple–access (DS/CDMA) systems by modeling the multipl...
